Bill Barats
Commander - Army
I was born on November 12, 1982. I attended elementary school at St. Barnabas and went on to graduate from West Catholic in 2001. In July of 2004 I enlisted in United States Army. August 10, 2004, I attended Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After, basic Training my first assignment was with the 1st Battalion 37th Field Artillery Regiment 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division out of Fort Lewis, Washington. While at Fort Lewis I deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After returning from Iraq in 2010, I was assigned to the 7th Army Noncommissioned Officer Academy in Grafenwoehr Germany. While at the 7th Army NCOA I was an instructor of the Basic Leadership Course. I was selected twice in 2 years as instructor of the cycle, an award given to the top instructor during the class. While in Germany I had the opportunity to help the Kosovo Security Force setup their NCO leadership school. After, Germany I was assigned to the 3rd battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade 4th Infantry Division. My awards from service are the Bronze Star Medal, Army Accommodation Medal, Army Achieve Medal, Iraq Campaign Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Ribbon, and the Army Service Ribbon. I am currently employed by the Department Of Veteran Affairs. Currently I hold a bachelors degree in Sports Movement and AA degree in OSHA from Columbia Southern University and Electrician training from Pennco Tech. I also volunteer with the Riverside Jr Rams as Football coach and board Member.
